The federal government announced Tuesday, August 25, 2026 it will provide more than $4.7 million toward the project in the Township of Mapleton. Plans include adding a new multi-sport and community space, improving accessibility and completing energy-efficiency upgrades at the facility. Mapleton will receive up to $4,777,344 through the Direct Delivery stream of the federal Build Communities Strong Fund. The project is intended to provide additional recreation and community space while allowing the facility to better accommodate Mapleton's growing population.
As a player and coach I know the benefits of being and staying active. There are many physical and mental health benefits to being active and we need to make sure that this community has access to facilities that can provide those benefits. Do you have some ideas for the PMD project or are there some things you would like to see added? Reach out and let's chat about it!
